"must be that primal urge to gawk at someone else's misery"

And that's why I hate the news.

I Hope We'll Be All Right

i hope we'll be all right

Andrew Jackson is working with Boris Darling on a music video for the song "I Hope We'll Be All Right" from his album After One AM. The video was shot in HD in downtown San Francisco, and stars a stuffed bunny with no name in a strangely painted car.

august 2008 new work in progress

Andrew Lawrence Jackson has started work on his next album, which promises to be his most electronic solo work to date. This set of songs and arrangements, while still in its early stages, is influenced quite a lot by hip-hop and electronica.

And then there's this new, completely redesigned zruvogue.com website. Andrew has been working tirelessly on this project for weeks and weeks, in between taking out the garbage, making dinner, going to work, taking care of the bird, and walking the dogs.

you're so savage, roger!Savage Roger by Tad Williams

Savage Roger is a Zru Vogue side project with Tad WIlliams on bass guitar and vocals, Andrew Jackson and Rick Cuevas on guitars and vocals, and Patrick Coyne on drums. The foursome get together once a month or so to write and play new songs. They're also learning and playing cover songs from the likes of Eno, Lou Reed, Talking Heads, Elvis Costello, The Who, Iggy Pop, and The Bonzo Dog Band (from whom the band takes its name). They debuted at a Christmas party in December, and now they play music for the fun of it.

disintegrated hits

Inspired by the process of choosing cover songs for the band to play for the Christmas party, Andy chose a dozen songs to learn and record for a personal side project (mostly as an excuse to get more practice recording in Logic on the Mac). The title comes from the inclusion of a song by The Flaming Lips, "Feeling Yourself Disintegrate." And is a play on "disintegrate" and "greatest hits." In case that needed explaining.

blur: the movie

Independent film director John Kim used a Rick Cuevas song in the closing credits of his 2008 feature film "Blur." Rick wrote the song "I'm Here" specifically for the movie, and it also appears on his latest solo album "I Believe." 7 Zru Vogue songs were used in the soundtrack as background music for scenes taking place in a bar.
